The Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, announced the signing of a partnership with Eutelsat – an operator of French satellites – so the internet reaches the population of sub-Saharan Africa.
The two companies will use the AMOS-6 satellite to ‘connect’ this region of Africa to the internet in the second half of 2016. The partnership is part of the initiative’s Facebook ‘Internet.org’ whose main objective is to facilitate access Internet to developing countries.
“The satellites will be important to break barriers in Africa,” said Chris Daniels, vice president of that initiative. Read more news in Special Blog Facebook CM
