FBI reports more hack attempts to voter registration system

The F.B.I has reports more hack attempts to voter registration system, ahead of national elections. FBI found evidence in August that foreign hackers had breached the state election database of Illinois and Arizona, but it appears that there have been latest attempts to that database as well.

The New Director Comey is advising all states to take help from Department of Homeland Security in order to protect their registration databases. While the registration is online through internet but you cannot vote through internet, and described as clunky and dispersed, making it difficult to hack.

Currently they continue to blame Russian Hackers and working with intelligence with effort to determine what the nation is up to.

James Clapper says“there’s a tradition in Russia of interfering with elections, their own and others”

Cyber Security experts and Democratic party president candidate Hillary Clinton has blamed Russian Hackers for this attack, but Donald Trump includes the hack could be come from Russia, China or more 400-pound hacker working from his bed.

Clapper said that “there’s a tradition in Russia of interfering with elections, their own and others.” To ensure that hackers don’t get to the electoral system, the DHS is working with state election officials on best practices on security, specially where there is any dependence on the Internet, Clapper said.
