HackToday: MacKeeper, a antivirus software for Mac OS X which suppose to protect their customers have to face an data breach and exposed 13 million customers information.
The Guy Name is Chris Vickery He works in MacKeeperIT helpdesk and afterwards he’s an security researcher, He was successful for stealing database of MacKeeper and found this on Shodan which search engine that indexes everything connected to the internet. Funny part is that guy even didn’t have Mac :p
Vickery was looking to find servers that are listening to incoming connections on port 27101. Ports are basically a doorway to a server and each port governs a number of web applications and services like MongoDB (a popular database management system) are associated with the port 27017.
Vickery’s request turned up four internet addresses which were later identified to be belonging to Kromtech the company who made Mackeeper.
